## Canadian companies under the CCAA

Type a company name. 716 companies under the CCAA since 2009, with their monitoring firm, from the lists of the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy.

Monitor or officer of a company listed here? Its internal data may still have value — see [the data of a company in a CCAA proceeding](/pro.md). Or a [dated record report](/report.md).

### What this is

Large Canadian companies that cannot pay their debts can restructure under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA), which applies when debts exceed $5 million. The court appoints a monitor, always a licensed insolvency firm. The Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy publishes the list of CCAA proceedings; this site gathers the lists from 2009 to today: the company, the date of the initial order and the monitoring firm.

### Who uses it

- **Creditors, suppliers and employees** — is this company under court protection, since when, and who is the monitor?
- **Monitors and advisers** — see [the data of a company in a CCAA proceeding](/pro.md).
- **Smaller corporations winding up** — see Canadian corporations that filed an intent to dissolve .

### What it is not

Not the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy and not a court record. A CCAA proceeding is a restructuring: many companies come out of it and keep operating; others are sold or liquidated. The list does not say how each proceeding ended.

The internal data of a company that employed 50 people or more (Slack or Microsoft Teams archive, documentation, project histories) may still have value after it has stopped operating.
